When candidates answer audio or video questions, TalkScore scores their responses based on six linguistic parameters:
Fluency: Evaluates the rhythm, rate, and smoothness of speech.
Grammar: Assesses grammatical range and accuracy, including phrase and clause complexity.
Pronunciation: Measures intelligibility and accuracy of word, syllable, and phoneme sounds.
Vocabulary: Scores lexical range, sophistication, and correct usage of diverse words.
Comprehension: Measures the relevance of the candidate’s answer relative to the given question or transcript.
Active Listening: Evaluates the ability to retain and repeat information from the transcript.
Each parameter is scored from 0 to 10 and then converted to the CEFR scale, which provides a standardized benchmark for measuring language proficiency.
